CREW CHIEF  KEVIN STARLAND

Kevin Starland will continue as the crew chief for Rick Crawford’ No. 14 Power Stroke Diesel by International Ford F-150 in 2007. Starland guided the team to 13 top-10s last year and five top-5s.

Starland got his start in NASCAR working for Bob Keselowski’s K-Automotive team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 1997. The following year Starland joined Roush Racing, working with Greg Biffle’s No. 50 Grainger F-150 Craftsman Truck Series entry.

In 2000, Starland was promoted to car chief, the same year that Biffle won the Truck Championship. Starland continued as car chief when the team moved to the NASCAR Busch Series for ‘01. Biffle earned rookie of the year honors that season, and went on to clinch the NBS Championship the following year in ‘02. In August of ‘03, Starland lead the team in his first year as crew chief for Roush Racing’s newest driver, Carl Edwards, and the No. 99 Superchips F-150.

Starland’s interests in motorsports grew from learning mechanical work at a young age on his family’s Michigan farm. Starland entered the military directly from high school, serving three years as a mechanic. It wasn’t until after his time in the military that Starland’s motorsports hobby became a career.
