Bob Osborne again reunites with Carl Edwards for the 2008 season. The duo have been together since renewing their partnership the last two races of the ’06 season.
The duo collaborated in ’05 and they achieved a spot in the NASCAR Nextel Chase for the Championship and a third place finish in the final standings. The No. 99 Office Depot Ford team scored four wins, 13 top-5's and 18 top-10's.
A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Mechanical Science, Osborne began his career with Roush Racing in 1998 working as director of engineering. He was tapped in March ‘04 to crew chief for the team's No. 99 Taurus with then driver Jeff Burton.
Later, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Edwards moved into the No. 99's seat for the remaining 14 races of the '04 Nextel Cup season. With Osborne sitting on top of the 99 pitbox, Edwards qualified fourth, finished third and ran in the top-five most of his debut Cup race at Michigan International Speedway. He then went on to claim Top-10s in three of his first four starts.
