Speedway, Ind. — Dale Earnhardt Inc.s Martin Truex Jr. reportedly was involved in a raised-voice spat with DEI President of Global Operations Max Siegel Saturday night, accusing Siegel of leaking a story to ESPN.com that Truex had agreed to a two-year contract extension. Truex angrily denied the story on Saturday and reported had it out with Siegel that evening.
• NASCAR’s Mexico City Nationwide Series race is history, according to a report on auto racing website thatsracing.com, which cites NASCAR officials as saying the race likely will be moved to Iowa Speedway next year.
• Team owner Roger Penske told the Associated Press that he did not, in fact, fire Ryan Newman, as former Penske driver Rusty Wallace had insisted during an ESPN press conference Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
