Fontana, Calif. — Ford Racing is 108 years old today. On this date—Oct. 10, 1901—Henry Ford, competing in a race as a driver for the only time, won a highly publicized and well-attended 10-mile event in Grosse Pointe, Mich. Several financial investors took note of the victory and later helped Ford start what would become Ford Motor Company in June 1903.
