Dallas — I’m joining the Mustangs Across America Tour and the 45th Anniversary of the Mustang Celebration this week.

I’m feeling good coming off of the Long Beach event. Not a bad way to start the Formula D drift season, but I ended up throwing my car into the door of a Dodge Viper. My competitor gave me a little brake check and I hit him and made him spin, so I lost, but I still finished sixth. It was definitely a good way to start the season out. We didn’t win but we were still victorious in the standings.

Last night, my girlfriend, Abby, and I flew into Oklahoma to meet up with the Mustangs Across America Tour. Mustang, Okla. is the fourth stop on the tour that started Saturday in Las Vegas.

The fine crew at Reynolds Ford was there to meet and greet us at the airport. They then took us to the dealership where we picked up a new 2010 Mustang GT500. I was able to drive it off the showroom floor and did a big burnout leaving the dealership. All of the guys at the dealership were bugging me to, so, of course I had to give in.

We then met up with more than 500 other Mustangs in Mustang, where we spent the night. We went out and had some dinner with others from the tour and then went to bed early to prepare for the drive in the morning.

Today we had a 7:30 a.m. driver’s meeting, before heading on our way to the next stop in Bossier City, La. Right now, we are in the Dallas area just stopping to have a quick lunch break and then we are hitting the road. The 2010 GT500 is insanely fast. I’ve been doing my best all day, trying not to get myself into trouble.

It’s such an incredible sight going down the freeway and passing nothing but Mustangs. You kind of get an idea of the passion and enthusiasm of Mustang owners, but you have no idea how strong that passion and enthusiasm is until you meet the crew that is out here. It is just unbelievable.
