Hello Brian,
After reading your response to the question about the new engine, do you know which team will use it first or will all of them switch at the same time?

Thanks Very Much,
Bob A.

Bob,
Thank you for your question.

The decision has not officially been made about which team will use the new NASCAR engine first. What we do know is we will phase the new engine in, as I have said several times our current engine is very competitive for both power and fuel efficiency, so we can not afford to scrap good parts that are competitive just to phase the new engine in (we will do what we call natural obsolescence).

As for the first team to get the engine, we have not decided that either, as it will depend on the actual phase-in timing and where all our teams are in the points; However, the Wood Brothers, who are running a partial schedule this year, have volunteered to debut the new engine, and given their 59-year history with Ford, we may just allow them that opportunity!

The Director
