FAN SPOTLIGHT – When hired to do an automotive photo shoot, professional photographers often get to see some special vehicles through their camera lens. Getting great photos is their business – but getting emotional about it isn’t usually part of the deal. Unless you’re Ford fan Eric Story, and you were hired to shoot a Mustang S650-based 2024 Shelby Super Snake for a private collector in Southern California. Turns out that Eric was so impressed with the design and legacy of the car he captured in his photos that he was eager to share his excitement with other Ford and Mustang fans. That’s when he got word of our longstanding Ford Fan Spotlight feature on FordRacing.com. We could tell his genuine appreciation for this magnificent Mustang when we spotted it in our ClubHub@Ford,com email inbox, so we thought you might appreciate a couple of the photos he sent along with the following submission:
“Ever wonder what’s it like to capture the power of a modern automotive icon such as a 2024 S650 Mustang Shelby Super Snake in photos? For me, car photography has always been about preserving the emotion behind the machine – and few cars capture that energy quite like the newest Shelby Super Snake. This particular 2024 Super Snake is one of the rarest modern Mustangs out there, and I had the opportunity to photograph it in Southern California for a private collector who has been a lifelong Ford enthusiast.
“When I first saw the car, I was blown away by the mix of heritage and aggression – the new Mustang S650 body lines combined with the Shelby Performance touches make it stand out even among other great Mustangs. I wanted my photos to show the balance between raw power and refined design that makes the Super Snake so special.
“I’ve been a Ford fan since I was a kid, and shooting a modern-day Shelby like this one felt like a dream come true. From the deep metallic reflections in the paint to the precision of every detail, this photo session reminded me of why Ford’s performance cars continue to inspire photographers and enthusiasts around the world.
