WHAT’S HAPPENING – After more than two decades in Myrtle Beach as one of the premier gatherings for Mustang enthusiasts, Mustang Week will relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2026, while carrying forward the traditions, friendships, and energy that have made it a legendary event. The 2026 show will take place August 24-29 and will feature better experiences, with the main event held at zMAX Dragway. Attendees can expect a massive Mustang and All-Ford car show, cruise-ins, meet-ups, more than 50 vendors, plus fresh attractions including drifting demos, drag racing, ride-alongs, autocross, burnout competitions, and entertainment throughout the week.

“The move to Charlotte was not made lightly,” admitted James Lawrence of Mustang Week. “Everyone who has loved Mustang Week has helped create something truly special — and unforgettable memories that will always be part of the Mustang Week story. Over the past several years, challenges in hosting Mustang Week events within the city limits of Myrtle Beach grew exponentially, making it increasingly difficult to run Mustang Week or even to ensure its long-term future. The decision to move to Charlotte reflects our promise to preserve Mustang Week in the future and grow the event into something even more special.”

Charlotte — a hub of Ford performance culture — offers a perfect next home. From RTR Vehicles, the Ford Racing Tech Center, to Ford NASCAR teams, and the Ford Performance Racing School, the region is filled with Mustang history and passion. The nearby Mustang Owner’s Museum also celebrates the brand’s iconic heritage. Beyond the automotive scene, Charlotte is also a great destination with plenty of adventure available — from the SEA LIFE Aquarium and Carowinds theme park to the water slides at Great Wolf Lodge. Families or friends can burn adrenaline at K1 Speed or explore exhibits at Discovery Place Science, while nearby Lake Norman offers boating and watersports. Charlotte has something for everyone.

Next year’s Mustang Week will be held August 24-29, 2026, in Charlotte, NC, as part of a three-year agreement. Mustang Week Texas will also continue April 14-18, 2026, at Moody Gardens Resort in Galveston, Texas – giving enthusiasts across the country more opportunities to celebrate their Blue Oval passion. Details on registration, tickets, and early access packages will be announced in early 2026 at MustangWeek.com. Fans are encouraged to join the Mustang Week newsletter to be the first to know.

Prefer a Car or Cash? Enter Shelby American Sweeps for a Chance to Win a 235-mile 2006 Ford GT or $250,000

If a Ford supercar or a big wad of money is something that would interest you, then there’s another recently launched sweepstakes you need to know about. It’s the annual fundraiser for the Shelby American Collection, a nonprofit that celebrates the rich heritage of the Cobra, Shelby Mustang and Ford GT40 cars that changed the face of auto racing in the 1960s. Thanks to the generosity of owners and collectors, the collection located in Boulder, Colorado (see website), houses some of the most important American racing cars ever made, as well as an extensive collection of race records, photographs and memorabilia from the pioneer drivers and visionaries of the era. The museum, staffed and run by volunteers, is dedicated to serve as a resource for all Shelby enthusiasts, and to preserve one of the most important eras in American automotive history for all generations.

To that end, their new sweepstakes gives you a chance to win a low-mile Ford GT, one of only 190 examples produced in Midnight Blue with painted White Stripes over Ebony leather in 2006. It is a one-owner car and it has only 235 miles since new. Power is supplied by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 linked to a six-speed manual gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential. It was factory optioned with forged aluminum BBS wheels, red-finished brake calipers and a McIntosh stereo system. Additional equipment includes Brembo brakes, HID headlights, a front splitter, a rear diffuser and air conditioning. The Ford GT took inspiration from the GT40 racing cars of the 1960s and features an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floors and aluminum body panels.

Don’t pass up your chance to score an almost-new 2006 Ford GT supercar or $250,000 in cash while helping preserve the Shelby American Collection.
