As championship battles heat up, Mustang Cup Australia travels to Sydney Motorsport Park for the penultimate round of its inaugural season. The series will race as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries weekend at the 3.910-kilometer (2.430-mile), 11-turn circuit, September 18 - 20.
Heading into the final two rounds of the season, Josh Anderson leads the Dark Horse standings with 372 points, but Joe Fawcett in second is just 38 points behind. In Dark Horse Legends, Keith Kassulke leads with 154 points, but John Goodacre trails him by only six points. In Dark Horse Juniors, a class for drivers 21 and under, Joe Fawcett leads the championship with 334 points.
In the fourth round of the season, Bryce Fullwood, making his Mustang Cup Australia debut, swept the weekend at his home track of Hidden Valley Raceway. In the Johnson Cup race, Fullwood led from flag-to-flag to bring home the victory. In the Ambrose Cup race, he battled with Josh Anderson for first position and ultimately took the lead with under 25 minutes left remaining. In the Dark Horse Legends class, John Goodacre claimed the Johnson Cup race win and Ben Dunn was victorious in the Ambrose Cup race.
