Mustang Cup Australia reaches the midpoint of its inaugural season as it comes to Darwin for the fourth round at Hidden Valley Raceway July 24-26. After three exciting rounds of racing, which featured a photo-finish and a last-lap pass, the series is ready for more excitement as the field of Dark Horse R cars takes on the 2.870-kilometer (1.783-mile) circuit.
In the third round of the season at Queensland Raceway, young talent Oliver Wickham impressed in his Mustang Cup Australia debut. The 16-year-old driver battled with teammate Jack Perkins for second place in the Ambrose Cup race and won the battle, finishing second. In the Johnson Cup race, Wickham again battled with Perkins, this time for the lead of the race. Wickham took the lead around the race’s halfway point and managed the rest of the race from the front to bring home his first Mustang Cup Australia victory.
