SPEEDWAY, Ind. – From Daytona Beach to the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Ford Mustang GT3 has collected major global endurance racing victories during its second season of competition. Ford Multimatic Motorsports added the “Racing Capital of the World,” Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to that list on Sunday by leading the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro class field to the checkered flag.

The Mustang GT3 made its second appearance in the Battle On The Bricks – a six-hour endurance race on the Speedway’s road course layout – earning consecutive podiums in the No. 64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3. Mike Rockenfeller (GER) and Sebastian Priaulx (GBR) climbed six positions to win this year’s event, their second of the season.

“It’s amazing to get a win at such a historic track like Indy,” said Alex Allmandinger, Ford Racing global sportscar manager. “The endurance races are always competitive in IMSA – fighting until the last lap. Everyone put a great effort forth today in maximizing every pit-stop and every lap.”

Ford Multimatic Motorsports has collected three total victories with its two-car Mustang GT3 campaign. Endurance racing triumphs in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and six hours at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course are joined by a hometown sprint race win on the streets of Detroit.

“Firstly, I want to thank Mike and Ford Multimatic Motorsports for the race they gave us today with the Mustang GT3,” Priaulx said. “To win here on the bricks is something special. There is a lot of history here, and this is a win I won’t forget.”

Rockenfeller, making his second Indy appearance in Mustang GT3, recorded his second straight podium performance – one step higher from last season’s runner-up result. Alongside Priaulx, the No. 64 helped propel Ford to its most IMSA series’ victories in a season since 2019, leading the final 25 laps in the process.

During the race weekend, the No. 64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports team participated in the IMSA Resilient Racer program, welcoming Jackson with Camp Boggy Creek as an honorary member to its team. Camp Boggy Creek, founded in 1996 in Eustis, Florida, hosts children with serious medical conditions so they can find a deep sense of belonging and empowerment.

“I want to thank Ford and Multimatic for giving us such a great car,” Rockenfeller said. “We had a third person on the car, Jackson Daniels. IMSA did a fantastic thing with Camp Boggy Creek to have the kids and their families here. He brought us luck today. I had a difficult qualifying session, and you’re really disappointed in racing sometimes. But then, you meet people like Jackson. How strong he is was really inspiring, especially as a dad, and it puts it all in a different perspective.

“We had a great race – very clean and we stayed out of trouble. We had to fight hard many times in this race to make our way up to the front. It was an honor to drive this Mustang GT3 today.”

The No. 65 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3, driven by Frédéric Vervisch (BEL) and Christopher Mies (GER), started the race from the front row before succumbing to damage sustained by contact in the second half of the race.
