The Mustang GT3 is in contention for its second national championship of 2025, as Dollahite Racing looks to secure title honors during the GT World Challenge America Indy 8 Hour, October 18. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, featuring 2.439 miles (3.86 km) and 14 turns, will host a convergence of elite racers from both America and the SRO-sanctioned Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The Dollahite Racing Mustang has made its championship charge in the amateur class ranks, collecting six class victories since Sebring. Dollahite Racing and Scott Dollahite currently lead the amateur class standings in both the Team and Drivers' Championships, respectively. If the team can complete its title tour, it will join Haupt Racing Team (HRT) as Mustang champions. HRT earned the Mustang GT3 its first championship earlier this month by securing the ADAC GT Masters Team and Drivers' Championships.

At Indianapolis earlier this season, the factory Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 drove Mustang GT3 to a six-hour endurance racing victory in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro class.

The Ford Mustang, celebrating its 61st anniversary in 2025, is the world’s best selling sports car. It is also one of the planet’s most popular race cars. With Mustang Dark Horse-based race cars competing in international sports car competition (GT3 and GT4), NASCAR, Australian Supercars, NHRA, Formula Drift, at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and in its own bespoke one-make series – Mustang Cup and Mustang Challenge – the platform has an unprecedented global reach. This weekend, 27 Mustang race cars are scheduled to race across all disciplines.

DRIVER QUOTES - GT WORLD CHALLENGE AMERICA

SCOTT DOLLAHITE, No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 (AM) –
“We are really looking forward to fighting for a championship with the Ford Mustang GT3 at the Indy 8 Hour. We have done some testing since Road America and feel very prepared to put up a good fight. A huge ‘thanks’ to the Ford Racing family for all the support. We will make you proud.”

ERIC POWELL, No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 (AM) –
“A lot of preparation has gone into this race and from all angles, including a brief test where we found some improvement. It’s going to be a new challenge for the team, but we are ready for it. Winning this championship for the team, Scott, Ford Racing and Multimatic Motorsports is massively important. We just need to go out and execute.”

STEFANO GATTUSO, No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 (AM) –
“I’m very excited to rejoin Dollahite Racing – this time for my first race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the Indy 8 Hour. I will do everything I can to help the team, Ford Racing and Multimatic Motorsports bring home the title. This will be a new experience but the same goal. It’s very important to carry good momentum into Bahrain for the World Endurance Championship, where we deserve a great result with the Proton Competition Mustang GT3. We’ve been very fast with the Mustang GT3 globally, and we have the potential to deliver good results in 2026.”
