Ford Racing heads to Italy this weekend for the 6 Hours of Monza, the final round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), determined to end the season on a high with its two Proton Competition-run Ford Mustang GT3s.
Despite an up-and-down season, Ford Racing has demonstrated blistering pace throughout the year, with the Ford Mustang GT3 leading races and regularly challenging at the front of the competitive LMGT3 field. However, a combination of misfortune and setbacks has prevented the team from converting that speed into a podium finish. The focus now turns to Monza, where the team will be determined to end the season on a high and secure the result its pace has deserved.
The No. 88 Ford Mustang GT3 will be driven by Logan Sargeant, Giammarco Levorato and Stefano Gattuso, with the trio determined to make the most of the Mustang’s potential at Monza and challenge for a podium in the season finale.
In the No. 77 Mustang GT3, Sebastian Priaulx, Ben Hunt and Eric Powell will be looking to capitalise on the car’s impressive pace throughout the season and deliver a competitive performance.
Known as the ‘Temple of Speed’, the 5.793km Autodromo Nazionale Monza is one of motorsport’s most iconic circuits, renowned for its long straights, high-speed corners and heavy braking zones. The circuit’s fast, low-downforce layout is expected to play to the Ford Mustang GT3’s strengths, giving the team confidence as it heads into the final WEC race of the season.

DRIVER QUOTES:
Seb Priaulx: “I’ve just returned from Monza following a really positive test with the Ford Hypercar, which was also a great opportunity to reacquaint myself with the circuit ahead of the WEC season finale. With its long straights and high-speed corners, Monza should play more to the Ford Mustang GT3’s strengths than some of the circuits we’ve raced at recently. I haven’t driven the Mustang here before, but I’m really looking forward to getting out on track, pushing hard and hopefully finishing the season on a high!”
Ben Tuck: “The last race of the season! One more chance to fight for a result, and it’s a track that I really enjoy. It’s going to be interesting with the changeable weather at this time of year, it could make for a very tricky but fun race! I’m looking forward to one last race this year with my team mates to see what we can do!”
Giammarco Levorato: “It’s already time for the final round of the FIA WEC, and I couldn’t think of a better place to finish the championship than at my home race in Monza! Racing in front of the Italian fans makes it even more special for me. It’s been a season where we showed great potential but unfortunately the results didn’t always reflect the hard work and effort we put in. I truly believe we deserved more, and that gives me even more motivation to push hard and finish the season with the result we’ve been fighting for. A big thank you to everyone at Ford Racing, Multimatic and Proton for their incredible work and support throughout the year.”
Stefano Gattuso: “It’s fantastic to be heading into the final race of the season at Monza, especially as it’s my home race. I live less than an hour from the circuit, so I’ll have plenty of family and friends there supporting me, which makes the weekend even more special. Monza is a track I really enjoy – it’s fast, suits my driving style and, with its high-speed layout and low-downforce demands, should play to the Mustang GT3’s strengths. The team has worked incredibly hard throughout what has been an up-and-down season, and I think we all deserve a strong result to finish the year. We’ll be giving it everything to fight for a podium and hopefully end the season on a high.”
