The Ford Mustang GT4 continued to display its speed and power during the second round of the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series at The Bend in South Australia.
In each of the category’s three classes, Mustang GT4 entries were on the podium at the end of the weekend, with a pair of Mustangs now leading their respective title chases in the highly competitive category.
Leading the charge for the Blue Oval in Race 1 was Blake Tracey and George Miedecke, who finished a close second in both outright and Silver class honours.
The duo's strong result on Saturday earned them a success penalty in Sunday's race, but they dug deep and raced hard to score solid points by the conclusion of Race 2 and assume the Silver class title lead for the first time in 2026.
Miedecke and Tracey lead the Silver class, the first of three Mustangs at the top of the standings. Ford Racing Supercars star Aaron Cameron and co-driver Lochie Dalton now sit in second, just ahead of Ford Racing Driver Development Team member Cameron McLeod and young teammate Mason Harvey.
The Cameron/Dalton and McLeod/Harvey entries finished second and third in Sunday's race, keeping the pressure on the front-running Miedecke Motorsport Mustang.
In the Am class, Gomersall Motorsport driver Glenn Walker was the standout, winning Saturday's race and finishing a remarkable fourth outright. Walker backed that up with a second-place class finish on Sunday to extend his Am class series lead.
Dick Johnson Racing Supercars endurance co-driver Tony D’Alberto and co-driver Jarrod Keyte took a third-place finish in Silver-Am on Sunday, bouncing back from an unfortunate crash in the opening race.
The next round for GT4 Australia will take place at Queensland Raceway on June 12-14.
A world-record field of 10 Mustang GT4s contested the opening round of the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia series at Phillip Island, scoring an impressive trio of class wins against a maximum capacity 34-car field of competitors.
Across two action-packed races, Mustang entries claimed victories in all three classes, highlighted by a Saturday Silver Class win for Aaron Cameron and Lochie Dalton in their Multispares #27 Mustang GT4.
The two Supercars drivers actually crossed the line second behind their Mustang teammates, Mason Harvey and Cameron McLeod in the #227, only for the latter pair to receive a 10-second penalty, dropping them to second place outright.
It was a busy weekend for both Cameron and McLeod who were pulling double racing duties in GT4 and the inaugural round of the Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia.
In fact, both young drivers won a race each in Mustang Cup, highlighting their natural skills in the all-new one-make category.
Unfortunately, Harvey’s GT4 weekend was cut short during Sunday’s race when a rival collided with his Mustang on the approach to the Hayshed, sending his Mustang into heavy contact with the tyre wall.
Perennial Mustang GT4 frontrunner George Miedecke got his hunt for a maiden GT4 title off to a mixed start, finishing with a sixth and a second-place finish alongside new driving partner Blake Tracey.
The pair endured a tough qualifying session that saw them start down the order for the opening stoush but raced through the field to show that they will be no easy-beats this year.
The Silver Am class saw another significant win for the Mustang GT4, with Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell claiming Sunday honours.
After debuting in GT4 last year with their own team, the pairing switched to the Chaz Mostert-owned Method Motorsport for 2026 and the change delivered instant results.
The stunning black, yellow and red Mustang – a tribute look to the Allan Moffat Federation Falcon from the late 1970s – was among the fastest Mustangs in the field, backing up their third-in-class finish from Saturday with class victory, and fourth outright, on Sunday.
In the Am Class, Glenn Walker took his Gomersall Motorsport Mustang GT4 to his maiden category class win on Sunday, following an impressive second place finish on Saturday.
The next round of the 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia will be held at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia in May.

QUOTES
Blake Tracey
- “It was an awesome weekend for us, but an unfortunate Safety Car delayed our pit stop in the last race and we dropped back through the pack.
- "We ended the day pretty good, but the racing out there was awesome with a lot of chaos. It was enjoyable, and we got great results in both races.
- “I’m learning more with this car too. The driver aids are certainly something new to me, so we’ll be hoping to get a victory at Queensland Raceway next round.”
Aaron Cameron
- “The speed in the Multispares Mustang has been great all year and this weekend was no exception.
- "In Qualifying, the Mustang was good even in the sketchy wet conditions. We have some pit stop dramas to work through ourselves to make sure we get strong results, but it was excellent to get a podium for our team.
- "The Mustang has been a great package straight out of the gate, and we don’t need to change anything when it hits the track."
Tony D’Alberto
- “It was nice to get on the podium after the disappointment early in the weekend.
- "We were far better prepared in the lead up to this event and we were competitive from the get-go. It was nice to repay the faith Jarrod (Keyte) has put in me and MPC as well. We come to the track to compete for wins and we’ve done it this weekend.
- "Now going forward, we feel we’ve got a competitive Mustang. There is still work to do, but we’re getting there."
