American horsepower meets Italian history as HRT Ford Racing brings the upgraded Ford Mustang GT3 to the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza on May 29–31 for a three-hour showdown in the SRO-sanctioned GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. In addition, three Mustang GT4 race cars will also race at Monza shared by six Ford Racing Driver Development Team members across two customer programs.

FAST FACTS

  • Academy Motorsport’s line-up at Monza features Queenslander Cam McLeod, who is set to make his series debut after primarily competing in GT4 Australia behind the wheel of a Mustang.
  • Haupt Racing Team helped the Ford Mustang GT3 to its 50th podium last week during the second event of the ADAC GT Masters season.
  • Ford’s sports car racing success in the 1960’s expanded further than Le Mans and Daytona. The famous powder-blue and marigold Gulf-liveried Ford GT40 Mk I—run by John Wyer Automotive Engineering and driven by David Hobbs and Paul Hawkins—claimed overall victory in the 1968 edition of the 1000 km of Monza.
