The Ford Mustang GT3 returns to the Nürburgring, July 10 – 12, as part of the ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix — a series highlight that attracted more than 134,000 spectators over the race weekend last year. For Haupt Racing Team (HRT), the Drees based operation will contend at its home track having collected four ADAC GT Masters class podiums and two pole positions during last year’s event.
FAST FACTS
- Last year's Nürburgring round delivered a historic milestone: the championship-winning Haupt Racing Team Ford Mustang GT3, driven by Salman Owega and Finn Wiebelhaus, earned its first ADAC GT Masters victory at the Nürburgring from pole position — the first in the series by the Mustang GT3.
- Frédéric Vervisch, driving the No. 67 HRT Ford Racing Mustang GT3, highlighted a strong result at the Nürburgring early in the season: In his return to the Nordschleife since his record-setting run in the Ford GT Mk IV, he helped the team to an NLS 3 podium alongside Christopher Mies and Dennis Olsen.
DRIVER QUOTES
MAX REIS, No. 1 Haupt Racing Team Ford Mustang GT3 – “I’m ready for the fourth round of the season at the Nürburgring. Last year, we showed our potential by taking pole position and demonstrating strong pace throughout the weekend. After our double podium at Lausitzring and all the hard work the team has put in over the past few weeks, I’m confident there’s more to come.”
EMIL GJERDRUM, No. 1 Haupt Racing Team Ford Mustang GT3 – “I’m really looking forward to being back in the Mustang at the Nürburgring. It’s a track I really enjoy, and after racing there earlier this year in the NLS on the Nordschleife, it’s great to return for HRT’s home race. The momentum from Lausitzring gives us plenty of confidence, and together with HRT and Ford Racing, our focus is on getting the most out of our package, fighting at the front, and bringing home another strong result.”
KIANO BLUM, No. 2 Haupt Racing Team Ford Mustang GT3 – “After a difficult weekend at Lausitzring, I‘m really looking forward to getting the second half of the season underway at the legendary Nürburgring. I’m fully recharged and determined to bounce back stronger than ever and show that we have what it takes to fight at the front. We may have some ground to make up in the championship, but that won’t hold us back. We’ll keep pushing to maximize every race weekend and score as many points as possible.”
NIKLAS KALUS, No. 2 Haupt Racing Team Ford Mustang GT3 – “The Nürburgring is one of the best circuits on the calendar, and I’m really looking forward to getting back there this weekend. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to compete there last year, so I’m eager to make up for that this time around. I’ve prepared really well for the weekend, and I’m ready to deliver.“
