Following a milestone weekend that yielded a historic first DTM podium and pole position for the Ford Mustang GT3, HRT Ford Racing heads to the Norisring, July 3 – 5. Competing at Germany's only street circuit, the team’s lineup of Ford Racing Factory Driver Arjun Maini and Driver Development Team member Finn Wiebelhaus will look to capitalize on their recent front-running pace to secure maximum championship points in front of the year’s largest DTM crowd.

FAST FACTS

  • During the recent rounds at the DEKRA Lausitzring, the Ford Mustang GT3 claimed its maiden series pole position and podium. Arjun Maini set the pace in qualifying to secure pole, while Finn Wiebelhaus drove to a third-place finish.
  • German driver Jochen Mass piloted the Ford Capri RS3100 to an overall victory at the Norisring in 1975, demonstrating the early prowess of Ford's touring car program in the DRM (as DTM was known at the time).
  • At the 1988 Norisring DTM, Armin Hahne won Race 1 and Klaus Ludwig charged from 23rd to win Race 2, as the Sierra 500RS Cosworth ultimately paved the way for Ford to sweep both the drivers' and teams' championships.
