For more than 125 years, America’s Race Team has pushed the boundaries of performance and innovation, building a legacy defined not only by victories, but by an unwavering commitment to compete at the highest levels of global motorsport. Now, Ford Racing is ready to write the next definitive chapter in that storied history.

In 2027, the Blue Oval returns to the pinnacle of global sports car competition, entering the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with a singular, unwavering objective: to compete for overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and fight at the front of the world’s most gruelling endurance races.

This ambitious program will be spearheaded in-house by Ford Racing, with the heart of the program, the 5.4L coyote-based V8 engine designed and developed internally. While ORECA will build the chassis and Venture Engineering provides technical support, the project remains centered within our organization to ensure total synergy. By managing the core development of the powertrain and aerodynamics, we are applying decades of Ford expertise to every millisecond of performance.

This move is the natural evolution of our “Race to Innovate” philosophy, building on the global momentum of our Mustang GT3 and GT4 programs and providing the ultimate high-speed laboratory to prove that Ford doesn’t just race for trophies - we race to redefine the limits of what is possible.

As testing and development intensify ahead of the 2027 season, every component is being rigorously refined to ensure we are fully prepared to meet the demands of the highest level of endurance racing.
