IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (May 1 – 3 – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca) - FORD VICTORY

  • The No. 65 Ford Racing Mustang GT3, driven by Christopher Mies and Frédéric Vervisch, delivered a GTD Pro class victory.

  • The win marks the fourth in IMSA, 16th globally, by the Mustang GT3 since its competitive debut in 2024.

Formula 1 (May 1 - 3 - Miami)

  • Ford earned its first Formula 1 front row qualifying effort since 1999 with Max Verstappen starting second for Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix. 

  • Verstappen finished fifth in the final results despite a post-race penalty. 

  • F1 will travel to Montreal for the Grand Prix du Canada, May 22 - 24.

Drift Masters (May 1-2 – Rome)

  • James Deane drove his Ford Racing Mustang RTR to a second-place finish in the first round of the 2026 Drift Masters championship.

IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (May 1 – 2 – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca)

  • Ford Racing Driver Development drivers Nate Cicero and Robert Noaker secured the season’s first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS podium for McCumbee McAleer Racing, driving the Ford Mustang GT4 to a third-place finish.

  • Team TGM’s Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb, raced to victory in the GS Bronze Cup.

NASCAR Cup Series (May 3 – Texas)

  • Chris Buescher had a solid weekend as he led Ford in qualifying (third) and the race (fifth) in Texas.

  • Ryan Blaney added a second Ford in the top 10 as he finished 10th.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (May 2 – Texas)

  • Ben Rhodes led Ford with a fifth-place finish Friday night in Texas.

  • Rhodes had a solid weekend as he sat on the pole, won the first stage and led 41 laps.

IMSA Mustang Challenge North America (May 1 – 3 – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca)

  • In race one, Cole Loftsgard of Round 3 Racing claimed victory in the Dark Horse class, and Nicholas Smither of Nick Smither Racing won in Dark Horse Legends. 

  • In race two, Devin Anderson of TechSport Racing led from flag-to-flag to bring home the win in the Dark Horse class, and Tom Tait claimed victory in Dark Horse Legends.

  • Mustang Challenge heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 5-7 with live race coverage featured on the Official Ford Racing YouTube channel.

NHRA (May 1 - 3 – Valdosta)

  • Chad Green led Ford during qualifying with a second-place effort at the inaugural NHRA Southern Nationals, running a 3.894 at 323 mph.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (May 1 – 3 – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca) - FORD VICTORY

  • The No. 65 Ford Racing Mustang GT3, driven by Christopher Mies and Frédéric Vervisch, delivered a GTD Pro class victory.

  • The win marks the fourth in IMSA, 16th globally, by the Mustang GT3 since its competitive debut in 2024; the win is also the first globally for the Evo performance package.

  • Ford ranks fourth in the GTD Pro manufacturers’ championship, trailing by 67 points.

  • The No. 64 Ford Racing Mustang GT3, piloted by Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker, placed sixth in class.

  • Ford Racing will contend in its homecoming race, the Detroit Sports Car Classic, May 29 – 30. Event coverage will be livestreamed on IMSA.tv and YouTube.

Formula 1 (May 1 - 3 - Miami)

  • Ford earned its first Formula 1 front row qualifying effort since 1999 with Max Verstappen qualifying second for Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix. 

  • Verstappen finished fifth in the final results despite a post-race penalty. He was charged an additional five seconds for a pit exit blend violation that would have dropped from fifth to sixth in the results, behind Charles Leclerc. However,  the Ferrari driver was given a 20-second penalty allowing Verstappen to hold the top-five finish. 

  • Arvid Lindblad (Visa Cash App Racing Bulls) would finish 11th, while teammate Liam Lawson was not classified. Isack Hadjar (Oracle Red Bull Racing) also failed to finish and was not classified in the final standings. 

  • In Saturday’s Sprint race, Verstappen secured a fifth-place finish while Hadjar earned a ninth. Lawson was 14th while Lindblad did not start the Sprint race. 

  • F1 will travel to Montreal for the Grand Prix du Canada, May 22 - 24.

Drift Masters (May 1-2 – Rome)

  • James Deane qualified eighth in the first round of the 2026 season. 

  • Deane won his Top 32, Top 16, Great 8 and Final 4 tandem battle to advance to the finals. 

  • Deane put on solid lead and chase runs in the finals but ultimately came in second.

  • The next round of the Drift Masters championship will be May 16-17 in Madrid. 

IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (May 1 – 2 – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca)

  • The No. 13 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang GT4, driven by Ford Racing Driver Development Team members Nate Cicero and Robert Noaker, delivered the team's first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS podium of the season.

  • McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) has collected four series podiums since 2024.

  • MMR leads Ford, ranking third in the GS class championship.

  • The No. 64 Team TGM Ford Mustang GT4, driven by Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb, earned top honors in the GS Bronze Cup and currently lead that championship.

  • Cicero recorded his second pole-setting lap of the season with a lap time of 1:28.848, his fifth since 2025.

  • Michelin Pilot Challenge headline the series’ stop at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 5 – 7. Event coverage will be livestreamed on IMSA.tv and YouTube.

NASCAR Cup Series (May 3 – Texas)

  • Chris Buescher had a solid weekend as he led Ford in qualifying (third) and the race (fifth) in Texas.

  • Ryan Blaney was the other Ford driver in the top 10 as he finished 10th.

  • All three RFK Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horses were in the top 15 as Brad Keselowski was 13th and Ryan Preece 14th.

  • Blaney is the top Ford driver in the point standings (fourth) while Buescher is fifth, Keselowski ninth, Preece 12th and Austin Cindric 15th.

  • The NASCAR Cup Series continues on Sunday, May 10 at Watkins Glen International (3 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN, SiriusXM). 

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (May 2 – Texas)

  • Ben Rhodes led Ford with a fifth-place finish Friday night in Texas.

  • Rhodes had a solid weekend as he sat on the pole, won the first stage and led 41 laps.

  • Layne Riggs (sixth), Ty Majeski (ninth) and Chandler Smith (10th) also finished in the top 10.

  • Ford has three of the top five drivers in the point standings in Smith (second), Riggs (third) and Rhodes (fifth).

  • The next race for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is Friday, May 8 at Watkins Glen International  (4:30  p.m. ET, FS1, NRN, SiriusXM).

NHRA (May 1 - 3 – Valdosta)

  • Chad Green led Ford during qualifying with a second-place effort at the inaugural NHRA Southern Nationals, running a 3.894 at 323 mph. 

  • Austin Prock qualified sixth with a strong 3.956 at 331 mph. 

  • Green made it to the second round on race day, where he fell to his son Hunter. 

  • NHRA heads to Chicago next for the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK May 14-17 at Route 66 Raceway. 

IMSA Mustang Challenge North America (May 1 – 3  – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca)

  • In qualifying, Devin Anderson in Dark Horse and Chris Clarke in Dark Horse Legends each earned their pole positions. 

  • In race one of the weekend, Cole Loftsgard won in the Dark Horse class after a race-long battle with second-place finisher Anderson. In Dark Horse Legends, Nicholas Smither claimed his first win in the Mustang Challenge series after starting from the back. 

  • In race two, Anderson led from green to checkered to bring home his first Mustang Challenge victory. Tom Tait in Dark Horse Legends scored his first win of the 2026 season. 

  • Mustang Challenge heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 5-7 with live race coverage featured on the Official Ford Racing YouTube channel.
