Ford Racing heads to Spain this weekend (16 - 18 October) for round seven of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Barcelona aiming for a strong LMGT3 result with its two Proton Competition-run Ford Mustang GT3s.
The No. 88 Mustang GT3 will be driven by Logan Sargeant, Giammarco Levorato and Stefano Gattuso. The trio will be looking to bring together consistent pace and clean execution to deliver a competitive performance across the six-hour race.
In the No. 77 Mustang GT3, Sebastian Priaulx, Ben Tuck and Eric Powell will share driving duties, with the same focus on maximising every opportunity and securing valuable championship points as the season enters its closing stages.
The 4.657-kilometre Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya combines a long main straight with fast, flowing corners and more technical sections, presenting a demanding test of the Mustang GT3’s all-round capabilities. With 14 turns and mixed weather conditions, finding a balanced set-up will be a key part of preparations this weekend.
For Ford Racing and Proton Competition, the priority will be to establish a strong rhythm from the opening practice session and carry that through to Sunday. With just two races remaining, both crews will be determined to leave Barcelona with a strong result and momentum for the season-finale.

DRIVER QUOTES:
Logan Sargeant: “I’m excited to be back in Barcelona for the first time in a GT3 car. It’s a track I’ve always been fond of, which brings a lot of challenges from many corner types along with high tyre degradation. It’s always a fun place to go racing, and we look forward to what will hopefully be a successful weekend.”
Ben Tuck: “Barcelona is an interesting track. The first sector has long sweeping corners where you can easily kill the front tyres. The middle sector is fast and flowing where you can attack more. Then the final sector is all about protecting the front left tyre through a series of fast right hand corners. It’s a fun track but also very important to think about tyre preparation and longevity throughout the stint! Although the team has been there in ELMS, the Mustang itself hasn’t been to Barcelona in LMGT3 spec, so that will be very interesting for us to learn as much as possible in Free Practice.”
Giammarco Levorato: “I’m really looking forward to racing in Barcelona. It’s a great circuit and always a pleasure to come back here. Despite the unlucky weekend in Fuji, I’m feeling very confident heading into this race. Our Mustang GT3 is becoming more and more competitive every weekend, and I think we’re making some really good progress as a team. We know we have the potential to fight for a strong result, so the goal is to put everything together and make the most of the weekend. A big thank you to Ford Racing, Multimatic and Proton Competition for all their hard work and continued support.”
Stefano Gattuso: “My last time racing in Barcelona was for the GT World Challenge in 2019 so I’m looking forward to getting to grips with this circuit again. It’s one of my favourite circuits in Europe to drive. I think we will have a good opportunity at this one, especially if there is rain or lower temperatures because our Mustang really seems to do well in these conditions. The team all deserve a strong result after our bad luck in Fuji – we will give it our all!”
