The penultimate round of the 2026 Mustang Cup USA season saw a first-time winner as Steve Luca brought home not only the Dark Horse Legends class win but also the overall victory in Sunday’s Parnelli Cup race.
In Saturday’s Miles Cup race, Logan Adams led from flag-to-flag to bring home the Dark Horse class win. Luca started from pole position in Dark Horse Legends, and he took the overall lead on lap one. He remained in the lead until he had an issue with 30 minutes remaining in the race that ended his day early and gave Craig Capaldi the Dark Horse Legends lead. Capaldi stayed in the lead for the remainder of the race to claim his seventh victory of the season.
In Sunday’s Parnelli Cup race, Adams took home the Dark Horse class victory and gained points on his championship rival Kale Buhl who had to retire the car after sustaining damage early in the race. In Dark Horse Legends, Steve Luca bounced back after a tough Miles Cup race, taking the overall race lead with 28 minutes remaining and bringing home his first Mustang Cup USA win.
Mustang Cup USA will be back on track for the final round of the season September 11-13 at Road Atlanta.
